False History

Did you know that the official version of history, as presented in schools, mainstream media and books, is just a big lie? At least that‘s what conspiracy theorists like Alex Jones, founder of the far-right website Infowars, claim. They believe that the entire history of mankind is controlled by a secret elite that promotes certain narratives and suppresses others. In order to manipulate public opinion, they would go so far as to not only rewrite his- torical events and personalities in retrospect, but to deliberately fabricate them with misinformation and fake news or even by staging whole events (like the Sandy Hook Massacre). In truth, it is the followers of this theory who ignore and distort historical facts.
