Fed Reserve

The Federal Reserve (Fed for short) is the central bank of the United States and plays an important role in monetary policy and the regulation of the financial system. This naturally makes it an ideal target for conspiracy theories. They claim that a small group of bankers are pulling the strings behind the scenes and steering the Fed‘s monetary policy in their own favour. Allegedly, the Fed is creating money out of thin air, deliberately causing inflation and financial instability. However, these theories ignore the fact that the Fed is an independent institution that makes its decisions primarily based on economic data and targets. It is also subject to some control and oversight by the federal government, particularly Congress.
