Many conspiracy-driven YouTube channels scrutinise music videos and images of the famous rapper in search of Illuminati symbols. Their goal? To prove that Jay-Z and other superstars have either joined this powerful secret society or are being controlled by it. After all, this – and only this – would explain their immense success and wealth. Makes sense, right?
Even wilder is the theory that Jay-Z is a time traveller. A photo taken in 1939 in Harlem, New York, is supposed to prove this. The man in the photo bears a striking resemblance to the rapper. The identity of this person remains unknown – but it’s certainly not Jay-Z. Or do we just not look close enough?
