Hollow Earth

The hollow earth theory was a scientific theory from the 17th century according to which the earth was not a solid body but a hollow sphere. According to this theory, our planet would con- sist of several spheres of different sizes, which are nested inside each other like Russian dolls – and which lack caps at the top and bottom. In the area of the poles there would be openings through which the interior is accessible. Although disproved by more recent findings, the hollow earth theory has remained the subject of pseudo-scientific and conspiracy theory conjecture. For example, it is claimed that the inner earth is inhabited by a civilization (often believed to be the legendary kingdom of Agartha) with advanced technologies that far surpass our level of technology.
