Intelligent Design

Intelligent Design (ID) is the creationist view that the universe and life are so complex that they cannot be explained by natural processes of evolution, but only by an intelligent creator. Based on this idea, some conspiracy theorists believe that scientists and governments would work together to discredit ID as a religious idea and promote an atheism agenda. However, the majority of scientists reject ID because it simply does not meet the standards of empirical research and falsifiability. As a parody of ID, US physi- cist Bobby Henderson founded the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster (FSM). It offers an equally (un)probable concept of creation that reduces the belief in an intelligent creator to absurdity.
